IKEA Food team in Lakeside are looking to welcome Food & Beverage assistants to join our delightful and hardworking team, where you will play a big part in our multi-skilled team.

FRONT OF HOUSE
As a front of house team member, you are the face of our IKEA food team providing excellent service to our fantastic customers!
We are looking for people who are passionate about food and great service. You will be working across our Customer Restaurant or our Swedish food market/ Bistro where no two days are the same. The role will involve serving our customers, processing payments for food orders and keeping the department clean and tidy, we work hard but have a fun time whilst doing it!

KITCHEN
Our kitchen is where you will lovingly and safely prepare and serve our great and nutritious food offer to our customers and co-workers and operating equipment such as ovens and fryers. This role comes with great responsibility for food hygiene and keeping the department clean and tidy. Our customer experience is important to us and this role is vital to exceeding their expectations.

Prior experience in food is desirable, but not essential if you have a roll up your sleeve mindset to the various tasks & challenges that present themselves.

Due to health and safety you must be over 18 for this role.

Expected Starting Date: 31st March 2023

WHAT WE OFFER

  • £10.90 per hour - rising to £11.45 from 1st MAY 2023
  • Living Wage Foundation Employer

12 - 18 hours per week, working 3 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends (evenings & weekend)

We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, this role will require availability to work until 11.00pm 2 nights per week and until 6.30pm on Sundays and full weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
Are you a team player with a passion for food and people? Do you know your meat ball from your plant ball? If so, then we are looking for you.

This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting.

We are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Food Co-worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the various areas in the department to help create a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker.

IN THE KITCHEN
  • Cleaning your working area and any appliances used
  • Carrying out food safety checks
  • Preparing and cooking our piping hot food
  • Helping the rest of the team with daily tasks
  • Working in a fast paced environment
